FLOYD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The defending VHSL Class 2 state champions extended their winning streak to 36 games on Friday night after defeating Liberty-Bedford 53-38 on the opening night of the Chance Harman Classic at Floyd County High School.
Cam Cormany led the way with 29 points, including nine shots from three-point range.
The Chance Harman Classic is in its 13th year and attracts teams from the area as well as schools from North Carolina, West Virginia and Florida. The event raises money for pediatric brain cancer research and is held in memory of Chance Harman, who died of the condition in 2007 at the age of four.
Earlier in the day, Gretna defeated James River, 59-48, while Auburn beat Eastside, 59-32.
