Nolley II, Mabrey leave VT basketball programs to enter transfer portal

BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Two high-profile Virginia Tech basketball players are leaving their respective programs to enter the transfer portal.

VT confirmed Monday that Landers Nolley II will leave the men’s basketball program after the redshirt freshman led the Hokies in scoring this past season. He averaged 15.5 points and grabbed an average of 5.8 rebounds a game. He also earned all-ACC freshman team honors and earned a spot on the league’s all-academic team.

On the women’s side, Dara Mabrey announced on her Twitter account that she will enter the transfer portal. The sophomore guard started all 29 games for the Hokies, averaging 12 points a game. She hit a team-high 71 three-pointers this season.
