RIDGEWAY, Va. (WFXR) — For the second time this weekend, William Byron found victory lane at the Martinsville Speedway.

Two nights after capturing the checkered flag in the Trucks series race, Byron won the NASCAR Cup Series race under the lights at ‘the Paperclip.”

Chase Elliott, who had the pole position at the start of the race, dominated the opening two stages but Byron took the lead on pit road between stages two and three to win his second grandfather clock of the weekend, marking his second win of the 2022 season. Elliott faded to 10th place.

Byron held on to the lead after a late caution forced an overtime restart with Joey Logano attempting to chase down the No. 24 Chevy.

Byron’s first win of the season came at Atlanta and is now the first driver to win multiple races this season.
