This past season, Newman made history becoming the first female to be a lead play-by-play announcer for a Carolina League team. Newman also made more history as part of the first all female radio broadcast team for a college football bowl game when she was the sideline reporter for last December’s Cure Bowl which the Liberty Flames won.
Speaking of Liberty, the past season she was the sideline reporter for Flames football.
