SALEM, Va. (WFXR) — The Virginia Sports information Directors (VaSID) announced their 2021 All state softball teams on Thursday afternoon. Roanoke College sophomore softball pitcher Jada Karnes was named to the 1st team. Karnes joined a pair of Virginia Wesleyan pitchers as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) claimed all three first team slots.
The announcement was just another honor for the Roanoke native and former William Byrd star after being named 1st team All ODAC and 3rd team All Atlantic Region. Karnes wrapped up the 2021 campaign with 14 wins and two saves with an 1.44 earned run average (ERA). Karnes made 21 appearances and recorded 109 strikeouts in her 111 innings of work and was also named to the 2021 ODAC Softball All Tournament Team.
