ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — If you are looking for some big time basketball, Patrick Henry High School is the place to be next Tuesday. The Western Virginia Basketball Officials Association presents the Preseason Basketball Showcase between Oak Hill Academy and Massanutten Military Academy. The event benefits the Adam Ward Scholarship Foundation.

Massanutten is coached but former Salem High School and Roanoke College basketball star Curtis Peery. Oak Hill is coached by the legendary Steve Smith. Western Virginia Basketball Officials Association Commissioner Jerry Spangler says the game is an opportunity for local basketball fans to see some big time action.

“Both teams are really, really good. Oak Hill is probably one of the two best teams in the country. Massanutten is one of the top 4 teams in the country. It just seemed to be a natural fit. We asked both of them and they couldn’t be more helpful in working with us. They are excited about this as we are. We are really excited about this. It is a great opportunity for the people here in this area to see Oak Hill and Massanutten, there are 15 D-1 players between the two teams. So it is a lot of talent,” said Spangler.

Here’s the info on the Preseason Basketball Showcase presented by the Western Virginia Basketball Officials Association. It is Oak Hill and Massanutten, Tuesday night at 6:30 from Patrick Henry High School. Admission is $5.00 and it benefits the Adam Ward Scholarship Foundation.
