ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Last weekend, Christiansburg resident and 3-time NHRA Funny Car champion Matt Hagan picked up his second win on the season in Houston. Hagan is continuing his successful career under his new owner in NASCAR champion Tony Stewart. Hagan said racing for Stewart has been a win win for him.
He feels Stewart gives him the physical and mental tools for him to keep on winning.

“Tony is a great guy. Honestly I didn’t know what to expect from him you know because you meet a guy who is a three time champion. He has done a lot and he has had a lot of people around him. He has been a super good dude. He is one of the good old boys. He wants to win. His mentality is to step on their throats and let’s get this done. Do not hold back. That gives me chill bumps in the car. He will crawl under the car and fist bump me and say lets go with driver stuff. That stuff to me is the mentality is what it is about to get us to the next level,” said Hagan.

Hagan currently leads the funny car points race. He will be racing this weekend in Charlotte at 4 Wide Nationals.
