HARRISONBURG, Va. (WFXR) — JMU already has some Southwest Virginia flavor on its roster with Northside product Julien Wooden set to contribute to the Dukes this season. As a senior with the Vikings, Wooden helped earn the program’s first-ever state title. And JMU head men’s basketball coach Mark Byington predicts a bright future ahead for Wooden in the purple and gold. “He’s learning our style where I need him to be an inside/outside guy. He’s got great length and a great skillset. He’s already one of our best offensive players and he’s catching on to the defense part of it and how important that is but he just has natural talent,” said Byington.
