LAS VEGAS, NV (WFXR) — The Las Vegas Aces made history last Sunday as they won their first ever WNBA title. Joining the celebrations for the title is former Virginia Tech guard and rookie Aisha Sheppard. Sheppard became the first Virginia Tech Hokie to win a WNBA title. It has been a whirlwind of a year for Sheppard as she left the Virginia Tech program as the all time leading scorer and 3 point shooter. She is also the ACC all time leader in 3 balls. Sheppard is excited to be part of more basketball history.

“Yesterday was the first day during the parade that I was like man this is for real and that I’m really a champion and the way Las Vegas showed out during the parade was absolutely incredible and just to be apart of history makes it 10 times better so I mean it hasn’t sunk in yet that it’s for real but it’s hard to put into words what I’m feeling and experiencing,” said Sheppard.

Sheppard is not done hooping it up this year…….she is set to play pro ball over in the Spain!
