CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — When you talk about the Funny Car division of NHRA Drag Racing, Christiansburg native Matt Hagan is ruling the roost as he has three world titles and is going for a 4th. Hagan enters this weekend’s NHRA playoff race at the Bristol Dragway with a 33 point lead over Ron Capps. Hagan is proud of his accomplishments but he feels it is not all about him when it comes to his success over the past decade. “At the end of the day it is my crew, I don’t win those championships by myself. It is my team it is Dickie Venerables. When you look at it and you take John Force out of it, in the scheme of things and you look at the last ten years. We have been more successful than any one in the funny car category as a group me and Dickie, wining races and winning titles and it is something I am excited to keep going for the next several years,” said Hagan.
