ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The 38th Scott Robertson Memorial gets underway Friday morning at the Roanoke Country Club. It is one of the best junior golf tournaments in the country. The 54-hole stroke play event wraps up on Sunday. More than 100 volunteers help put on the tournament. Organizers are happy to be back with this Roanoke Valley tradition.

“It is great to be back in some normalcy. Even though COVID is still around, I feel like things can proceed in a normal way this year. Last year we were not able to have a many people spectate and we welcome the public to see these fabulous young boys and girls playing on the course and on this beautiful course,” said tournament administrator Debbie Ferguson.

165 participants spread over 2 boys divisions and 2 girls divisions each 15-18 and 14 and under from 28 states and Puerto Rico and 11 countries. All of the action gets underway Friday morning from the Roanoke Country Club.
