Hokies wrestling dominates Duke on stage at Moss Arts Center

BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — No. 7 Virginia Tech dominated Duke, 46-3, in the final home dual meet of the regular season, winning nine of the ten matches contested Saturday at the Moss Arts Center.

Virginia Tech recorded two pins, three technical falls and one major decision against the Blue Devils, earning its third straight dual victory.

“Just about going out there and taking wins and being aggressive and getting into our offense and staying on our offense and really just dominating when we can dominate,” head coach Tony Robie said. “So from that standpoint, I was very pleased with the approach that our guys had and the mindset that our guys had and the effort that they went out there with and attack. So there’s a lot of positive things that happened out there tonight.”

This was the sixth straight year that the Hokies have battled on stage at the Moss Arts Center. Virginia Tech hits the road to face NC State and Pitt to finish the regular season.

“It’s great momentum going into next weekend in Raleigh,” Robie said. “We’re excited. Like any other match, we have to turn the page and get ready for the net one.”
