Hokies ready to get back to the gridiron

Sports

The Hokies finishing their regular season 9-3 and with bringing home the Commonwealth Cup for the 14th year in a row.

This week the Hokies are enjoying a week off, resting up, healing some injuries and playing a little Call of Duty before they get back into the grid and prepare for their bowl game match up.

“We knew at the beginning of the season we had the chances to be this great, so we looked at each other and said why not,” Hokies Tremaine Edmunds said.

“We are finishing up strong and also getting healthy, we are going back to work this weekend, putting the pads back on and practice and you know just stay fresh, just look forward to getting back to work,” Hokies Ricky Walker said.

While some of the guys say they’ve been looking at where they are projected to go, others say they don’t care, but for senior Andrew Motuapuaka he doesn’t care where they play it’s all about who they face.

“I’ve heard a lot of SEC teams, and that’s kind of where I want to go. I just want to play an SEC team, kind of show those guys that the ACC is tough, too, and that we can play with those guys as well, so yeah any SEC team is a team I want to play,” Motuapuaka said.

The Hokies will find out who they will be facing and which bowl game they will be playing in this Sunday afternoon.
