Virginia Tech bounced back from its first loss in ACC play, defeating Wake Forest, 87-71, at Cassell Coliseum Saturday afternoon.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker led five Hokies that scored in double figues, dropping 24 points in the win. The Hokies improve to 15-2 overall and 4-1 in league play.
“It’s such an invisible line in this league between winning and losing. I thought we were much more us and not to take anything away from Virginia, they beat our brains in from start to finish in every possible way on both ends of the floor,” head coach Buzz Williams said.
“The response from our staff and our team on Thursday, Friday and this morning speaks to how they were raised and it speaks to their character and work ethic. I’m thankful.”
Virginia Tech travels to Chapel Hill, N.C. on Monday to face North Carolina.
