ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — After waiting for weeks to begin the season, basketball teams from William Fleming and Patrick Henry high schools finally took the floor on Tuesday night.
No spectators were allowed and masks were required to be worn by players, but the competition got underway with the boys teams playing at William Fleming while the girls battled at Patrick Henry.
The Colonels won the boys match-up, 50-42, while the Patriots took the girls’ game, 62-44.
The teams will meet each other again on Friday night, with the boys taking the floor at Patrick Henry while the girls meet at William Fleming.
