ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Daniel Byrnes took pen to paper to sign his letter of intent to swim at Johns Hopkins Wednesday.

The North Cross senior is a dual-sport athlete who also ran cross country during his high school career.

He broke school records last season in the 200- and 500-meter freestyle events. And in his first two years at North Cross, Byrnes held the title of swimmer of the year in the Virginia Independent Conference.

Now Byrnes gets set to begin a new journey with the Blue Jays.
