ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Recent William Fleming graduate and track and field star Micah Jones making a decision Friday on where he will be going to school this fall. In front of family and friends inside the William Fleming High School gym, Jones signed his National Letter of Intent to run track for George Mason University in Fairfax this fall. Jones had a decorated high school career for the Colonels winning multiple Class 5 state championships in the 55 meter dash, 55 meter hurdles, long jump, and the 300 meter hurdles.
Jones is excited about the future ahead.
“It means a lot, choosing where my next home is. It is more about track and what team is best for me. Honestly I don’t know what is next to come. Because high school and college are two different things. I am expecting great things so it don’t really matter because I am going to do big things,” said Jones. Jones plans at George Mason include being a decathlete. After graduation he would like to be a sports broadcaster. That is a great career choice…..congrats to Micah!
