APPOMATTOX, Va. (WFXR) — A two-run RBI single by Abbey Mann in the bottom of the sixth inning was all Appomattox needed to advance to the Class 2 state championship game.

The Raiders defeated Lebanon, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon at home and will face Randolph-Henry in the state final on Saturday.

Mann broke the scoreless tie on a one-out hit to left field, bringing home Kelsie White and Haleigh Tweedy for the only runs of the contest.

Courtney Layne pitched the shutout, putting the Raiders in position to win their first softball state title since 1987.
