SALEM, Va. (WFXR) — A special honor for a pair of Salem Spartan football players as Tennessee Volunteer commit Peyton Lewis and Georgia Bulldogs commit Chris Cole. The pair got their Under Armour Next All-American jerseys this week to play in the game in January. They are the first Salem players to get the opportunity to participate in the game.
“It means everything to me. Coming up from somewhere I thought I would be never given this opportunity, it is just crazy for me. Sophomore year I had all of those injuries, I never thought I would be in this position and I am now here so now I can take it one step at a time,” said Lewis.
“It means a lot to me. Just my whole life I have always worked hard in school and just the success it is always to look at the Under Armour Game and now I am totally playing it is just like a blessing,” said Cole.
The Under Armour Next All-American Game is on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
