ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Saturday at 1 p.m., the North Cross Raiders will be going for their 2nd straight and 5th state title overall as they play Blue Ridge for the VISAA Division II Final at North Cross.

Raiders head football coach Shannon Taylor said the team knows all about championship week, this is their sixth title game in the last 8 years. Also they are playing a Blue Ridge team they beat during the regular season in come-from-behind fashion 24-15.

“Well obviously championship week. We have been practicing for a long time since July. There is nothing we are not going to do this week that we didn’t do week one. So everything is a habit. Creating a culture and continue to do things we have done well all season and the guys are ready to go,” said North Cross head coach Shannon Taylor.

“I mean that has been the whole season. When have been Road Warriors. I think we have had two or three home games this year. All of the away games we have won. I think this one we have had more preparation and they have to come to us. I am pretty. confident about that,” said North Cross senior lineman Mortiz Schmoranzer.

“You know we try to see it is state week. I feel like this week we have been working ten times as harder I mean we have been preaching that all year. We have been giving our all this week. You know we have a tough opponent. We have to come and show out,” said North Cross running back Kam Johnson.
