PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – There’s a new head football coach at the helm of the Tunstall High School football team. First-time head football coach Kirkland Brown has taken over the program from former head coach Randy Hunsicker.

Last year, the Trojans finished the year 0-10 overall and 8th in the Piedmont district. This year, Brown looks to change last season’s outcome. According to Coach Brown, this will be a learning process for both him and the team.

“You know I try to keep an open mind every day whether it’s with the kids specifically workout facilities. Trying to handle a lot of things and sometimes it’s like drinking out of a fire hydrant. But it’s been really good. I’ve really enjoyed the people they’re really good and with it being my first coaching experience from the head coaching perspective it’s been new and interesting in things I didn’t think about before is now at the forefront.”

Coach Kirkland Brown and the Trojans open the season on August 25 at home against Dan River. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
