E.C. Glass, Jefferson Forest put high school football season on pause

LYNCHBURG & FOREST, Va. (WFXR) — Two more Friday Night Blitz high school football teams are dealing with COVID-19 issues.

Jefferson Forest and E.C. Glass played each other on Friday, Feb. 26 and now have cancelled their upcoming games as a precaution against COVID-19.

According to Bedford County Public Schools, there were three positive cases of COVID-19 reported in the school district Wednesday, March 3.

The cases involved individuals at Jefferson Forest High School and have been traced to transmission outside of the school.

As for Jefferson Forest, they have shut down football practices and the game against Liberty Christian scheduled for Friday, March 5 is cancelled.

Glass can practice over the next two weeks but their games Friday against Rustburg and next Friday’s game against Liberty Christian are cancelled.

No word from Lynchburg City Schools on if anyone associated with the Hilltoppers program have COVID-19.
