BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) — Liberty High School is in the market for a new head football coach. Liberty High School officials telling WFXR Sports Chris Watts is leaving the Minutemen after 20 seasons as head football coach. Watts is joining Scott Abel’s staff at Davidson College. Watts followed Abel as Liberty’s head coach in 2002. In 20 seasons with the Minutemen, Watts led Liberty to the Class AA Division 3 state title in his first season back in 2002. He’s taken liberty to 13 playoff appearances with a record of 122-101.
