LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty redshirt junior post player Keyen Green was honored as one of the Commonwealth’s best women’s basketball players on Thursday. She has been voted to the 2019-20 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) University Division All-State second team.
Green earned second team all-state honors for the second time in her career, adding to her previous recognition in 2017-18. The Philadelphia, Pa., native is the first Lady Flame to make multiple appearances on the VaSID all-state squad since Ashley Rininger in 2013-14 and 2014-15.
A first team All-ASUN performer, Green paced the Lady Flames in points (13.9 ppg), rebounds (7.5 rpg), blocked shots (0.7 bpg) and field goal percentage (.590). Her field goal percentage ranked No. 1 in the ASUN and No. 11 nationally. Green’s 13.9 ppg scoring average was the highest by a Lady Flame since the 2013-14 season.
Green scored her 1,000th career point during a Jan. 11 win over Jacksonville, becoming the 16th member of Liberty’s 1,000-point club. She finished that contest with 29 points and 16 rebounds, becoming the first Lady Flame to tally 20+ points and 15+ rebounds in the same game since March 10, 2012 (Avery Warley).
Green finished her Liberty career ranked No. 9 in program history for points (1,215), No. 10 for rebounds (673) and tied for No. 8 in both double-doubles (17) and 20-point games (13).
