Giles High School gets appeal granted by the VHSL

Charlottesville, VA(WFXR) – Big news Wednesday for Giles High School athletics. The Virginia High School League appeals committee votes to approve the Giles Spartans appeal to move down in classification from Class 2 to Class 1 for the mid-cycle alignment plan.
Back in July, the VHSL alignment committee denied the Spartans request to drop down in classification. Coming up on September 23rd, the VHSL executive committee will determine the final alignment plan.
If the executive committee finalizes the plan, Giles moves from Class 2 Region C Three Rivers District to Class 1 Region C Mountain Empire District beginning for the 2021-22 school year.
