While there won’t be a bowl game in Liberty’s future this season, the Flames still have a chance to finish their inaugural FBS campaign with six wins. LU hosts Norfolk State on Saturday and will honor the team’s 17 seniors in the final game of the year.
Meanwhile, junior quarterback Stephen “Buckshot” Calvert can set a new school record for career touchdown throws with just one scoring pass against NSU.
“What we’ve been talking about all year is putting points on the board and having drives that don’t hurt us or don’t shoot ourselves in the foot,” Calvert said. “You know having those drives and not putting our defense in backed up situations, those are the things we look forward to going into the game is to try to do and try not to do.”
Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Williams Stadium on Saturday.
