LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – It’s been a rough few weeks for the Liberty University football team. Not only did former head football coach Hugh Freeze leave for Auburn, new head coach Jamey Chadwell was named the new head coach of the team just a week ago. As of now interim head coach Josh Aldridge is at the helm, and trying to make sure his team is well prepared as they prepare to face Toledo in the Boca Raton Bowl.

“The last few practices actually have been on us getting back to the speed of the game and getting physical and getting our edge back. Trying to make it a little light in terms of having fun and getting them spiced up a little bit. I think that’s the point this time of year and it’s been somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster through this season. Some of the biggest moments in school history and then your head coach leaves which is apart of this game so I’m just trying to make sure these guys enjoy this week and hopeful go get a win,” says Aldridge.

The Flames face off with Toledo Tuesday December 20th, at FAU Stadium in Florida. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
