W&L Women’s Lacrosse Set to Host NCAA Tournament Second Round Games

LEXINGTON, Va. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has announced its field for the 2021 Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championship and Washington and Lee will serve as host for the second round on May 8-9.

The bracket includes 37 schools and the Generals’ pod features eight teams that receive a first-round bye. In the second round, the Generals will take on FDU-Florham (16-0) on Sunday, May 9 at 2:30 pm. The Devils earned their berth by defeating Stevens, 15-14, in the championship game of the MAC Freedom Conference.

Additional teams competing in the second round at W&L include Salisbury (15-0), Morrisville St. (7-2), Washington & Jefferson (10-0), Farmingdale State (8-0), Ithaca (12-1) and Notre Dame of Maryland (7-0).

Washington and Lee is currently ranked second in Division III and the Generals claimed their 11th consecutive Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship with a 17-9 win over Roanoke on Sunday.

Should the Generals win their second-round contest, they will advance to the NCAA regional for the right to advance to the NCAA Final Four. W&L will host the regional, which will be held on May 15-16. The Final Four will be held in Salem, Va., on May 22-23. View the complete bracket by clicking here.
