FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced on Friday morning that Washington and Lee University has seized the Dan Wooldridge Overall Sports Champion Cup for the 19th consecutive year.
The Generals claimed all three of the cups, taking the overall and the men’s and women’s cups. W&L won the women’s cup for the 18th straight year and took the men’s cup for the sixth straight year, marking six consecutive years the Blue & White has received all three of the cups.
W&L accumulated 160.0 of a possible 177.0 points for a .904 overall rating, out-pacing Lynchburg, which tallied 172.5 of a possible 205.0 points for an .841 rating. Roanoke was third (.734) and the Maroons were followed by Bridgewater (.644), Randolph-Macon (.557), Shenandoah (.518), Virginia Wesleyan (.512), Guilford (.414), Emory & Henry (.387), Ferrum (.347), Randolph (.319) and Eastern Mennonite (.257).
In the women’s standings, W&L amassed a .935 rating and Lynchburg was second with an .853 rating. In the men’s competition, the Generals registered an .871 rating to rank ahead of Lynchburg’s .828 rating.
Washington and Lee finished the 2020-21 year with a 115-36-2 (.758) overall record, winning five conference championships.
