(WFXR) — The Virginia Tech Women’s Basketball team wins against Tennessee in the Sweet Sixteen. The top seeded Hokies defeat the Volunteers 73-64 to punch their ticket to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history. Virginia Tech junior guard Georgia Amoore finished with 29 points and says this win will help motivate us through the next phase of the tournament.
“It’s incredible. after the game I said the last time Virginia Tech went to a sweet 16 they played Tennessee and they lost so what a great outcome for all of us. I say we celebrate through our confidence. I mean what we done is great but we’re not going to sit here and focus on that because we still have plenty of basketball to play. But we’re going to let it motivate ourselves give us confidence going into the next game.
The team will battle Ohio State on Monday at 9 p.m.
