BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) – On Sunday, May 14th, The Virginia Tech softball team secured an at-large bid to the NCAA Softball Tournament. The Hokies will be headed to Georgia where the No.14 ranked Georgia University Bulldogs will play host to the regional round. Boston University finished the season with a 51-8 record, while Virginia Tech went 37-18 overall during the regular season.

“I think they’re ready our seniors have played in four of these now so they know what to expect and they’ll bring the young ones along. We’re always as prepared as we can be four games against Florida State, Clemson, UCLA, and Oklahoma State. We played a tough schedule and I don’t think we’re going to back down from anybody. Yeah I just looked and they can pitch I think they’re at 320 so they’ll be formidable,” says Virginia Tech head softball coach Pete D’Amour.

This is the fourth straight tournament appearance for the Hokies. Virginia Tech plays Boston University Friday, May 19th, first pitch is set for 2 p.m.
