ATHENS, Ga. (WFXR) — Virginia Tech’s Softball season came to a close in the Athens regional championship on Sunday after a 12-3 loss to Georgia.

The Hokies were seeking a return to the Super Regional round but the Bulldogs took a 5-0 lead after the first inning and never looked back. Georgia’s Sydney Chambley went 4-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI while junior Cameron Fagan led the Hokies with a home run and an RBI off two hits in three at-bats.

Virginia Tech finishes the season with a 39-20 record.
