BLACKSBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The reigning ACC men’s basketball champions in the Virginia Tech Hokies as they are in day 6 of their preseason practices getting ready for the season as they are about a month away and when you look at teams under the guidance of Mike Young in his 4th year, he is excited about the program especially guys he sees that can make a difference in the program.

“All we want to do is to coach them up and not be concerned about silly stuff and not going to class and not taking care of business in town and represent Virginia Tech and our basketball team in a positive light…Mutts has done that. I came in this morning at about 8:30 he is working we will practice later today at 12:30 and he will stay after. He is serious. he is about winning games. He plays the game the right way. I have had a number of them. Hunter Cattoor, Keve Aluma, a bunch of them and that lends themselves to pretty good ball,” said Young.

“It means the world to me to be in an environment and in a culture where there is that much trust not just for me but my teammates, it just wants me to continue to work hard and when you step on the floor and when you are playing for that trophy to make the best decisions and you wind up trusting yourselves it has really gone full circle to put faith in me to be with the entire team,” said Virginia Tech graduate forward Justyn Mutts.

Young he is excited about his guys as well as the entire team as the Hokies look to repeat as ACC Champions and even make a run in the NCAA Tournament as they will have scrimmages coming up in the future against the Liberty Flames as they get their season underway!
