LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — As Liberty’s football team continues to win games and rise in the rankings, its star quarterback is gaining national attention.
Malik Willis was added to the Maxwell Award watch list Wednesday, marking the third time this season that the Auburn transfer was named to a national award watch list. Willis was added to the 2020 Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award midseason watch list in October. He was also named to the College Football Performance Awards National Performer of the Year watch list in November.

Willis is a perfect 7-0 as a starter in 2020 and is the first quarterback in program history to win his first seven starts.
The Atlanta, Ga.-native has completed 122-of-180 passing attempts for 1,645 yards and 15 touchdowns. He has 120 consecutive passing attempts without an interception and has thrown only one pick this season.
