LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Liberty Flames football players responding to the media for the first time since the tragic death of their teammate Tajh Boyd in early August.

“I feel like fall camp has been really challenging especially our teammate Tajh Boyd passing away and it’s just been on everybody’s shoulders to keep everybody together for the team. But we know we have to get back together to sure everything doesn’t breakdown for the season because we have a big season coming ahead because we’re a new team and we just need to stick together,” said Liberty junior running back Quinton Cooley.

“That just hit us different to where we understand that each moment out here is just very previous and you can’t take a day for granted you can’t take a practice for granted and knowing that the game is less than 10-days away. I think we’re starting to understand that and just knowing that every little step we have to be ready and be accountable to each other,” said Liberty senior linebacker Tyren Dupree.
