BLACKSBURG, VA(WFXR) — Wednesday night the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team defeated Dayton 77-49 over at Cassell Coliseum. That was Virginia Tech’s 9th win of the season. Not only was big contest for the Hokies – but it was a big day for one of our local basketball stars.
Former cave spring and two time VHSL Class Three state champion – Owyn Dawyot got a chance to get into the game and nail a step back jumper. That was Dawyot’s first points of the season.

“Yes my man Owyn lord sakes he probably looked like John Stockton with that step back move to throw that thing in the air. Good for him wonderful young man competitive helping our team we’re happy he’s apart of our program,” said Virginia Tech head coach Mile Young.
