LEXINGTON, Va. (WFXR) — The VMI Keydets football team looking to end a 3 game losing streak as they host the ETSU Bucs in Southern Conference play….kickoff is set from Foster Stadium Saturday at 1:30pm. One player making his mark on defense is former Lord Botetourt star Evan Eller. Eller made the move this season from safety to linebacker. The change has paid off as he is averaging 10.5 tackles per game.

“Well Evan is just getting better every week. You know what’s most impressive is how hard he works and then you watch him recover kickoffs just how hard he runs to the ball. He’s a highly intelligent player that is becoming instinctive and it takes awhile to learn how to play linebacker. Through the reps he’s becoming instinctive and that 4th and 2 play was just an unbelievable play. It’s a play he should’ve made made he saw it though and made it. I couldn’t be prouder of him tough as nails great player I’m thrilled he’s on our football team and happy to see the success he deserves,” said VMI head football coach Scott Wachenheim.
