PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Pulaski County is hosting its inaugural Pulaski County ‘Gobble and Wobble 5k’ race on Thanksgiving Day.

The race will be held on Nov. 23 starting at 8:30 a.m. at Randolph Park. Registration for the race begins at 8 a.m. Registering for the race is also available online now participants registered by Nov. 13 are guaranteed a long sleeve shirt or dog bandana to commemorate the day.

Participants will be able to sample pumpkin flavored treats from local businesses including Fazoli’s, Food City, Mary Lee Candies, Mochi’s Café, Sal’s Jr., and TJ’s Place at each kilometer of the race. Racers can vote for their favorite treat after completing the 5k and the winning business will take home the “Gobble & Wobble Taste of Pulaski County” award for the year.

The cost for runners and walkers is $25. For children ages 11 and under, participation costs $15 and $10 for leashed dogs.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the National Emergency Needs Taskforce of Pulaski County. They provide emergency assistance to individuals and families in need.
