ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Alternate electronic petitions have been approved for circulation in the City of Roanoke for a referendum at the next general election, taking place on Nov. 2.
The referendum question, if successful at being placed on the ballot, will ask voters whether or not they support changing the selection of school board members from appointment to elected by the voters.
Registered voters can click here to sign electronically.
The contactless method of ballot petition signature gathering allows collection via mail and online as a safe alternative during the pandemic.
A total of 6,500 registered Roanoke City voters must sign the petition by July 14 for this question to be placed on the ballot.
