ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – The Roanoke City Democratic Committee will be hosting a primary forum on Tuesday with two Democratic candidates for Roanoke City Sheriff.
Democratic candidates Lemajors “Lee” Hill and Antonio Hash will participate in the debate, which will be streamed live online from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25.
Hill worked with the Roanoke Sheriff’s Office for 25 years, retiring last year as a division commander. As sheriff, his number one goal is safety and security.
Meanwhile, Hash has 13 years of experience in law enforcement, as well as a long background in community empowerment projects. He is looking to improve and strengthen the relationship between the sheriff’s office and the community.
Former Roanoke Sheriff Tim Allen retired last fall after holding the position for seven years.
Chief Deputy David Bel is currently serving as interim sheriff until a successor is elected during November’s General Election.
