ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Twenty-one men and women applied to fill the Roanoke City Council seat left vacant by the resignation of Djuna Osborne. Her term was set to expire Dec. 31, 2022.
Osborne said the needs of her family as a result of the coronavirus pandemic was the reason for her resignation.
The Roanoke City Council will select candidates to interview at its meeting on Monday, Oct. 5. The 21 candidates are:
