ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A lawsuit filed after the death of an infant last year has been refiled.

Mark Reed, the administrator of the estate of Charlee Ford, says Charlee’s case had to be reevaluated so attorneys could “evaluate the most liable party” in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit claims Charlee’s parents, and multiple parties involved with the local Department of Social Services, is responsible for Charlee’s death.

Charlee died on April 16, 2016, just four months after her birth.

The original lawsuit claims the baby girl was born a “substance abuse” newborn, and tested positive for drugs in her urine test.

The lawsuit claimed the Department of Social Services marked Charlee at low risk despite the urine analysis, when she should have been marked at high risk.
