Wintergreen to test mass-notification siren system

News

On Wednesday, June 26 at 10:30AM the Wintergreen Emergency Management Department will be testing its mass-notification siren system.

The test will be conducted at 3 proposed sites. Devils Knob, Laurel Springs and Stoney Creek.

Each test will last approximately 2 minutes. Once the officials are done installing the system, it will be able to alert residents of wildfires, approaching tornados or possibly active shooters.

The sirens will be loud, so communities near the Wintergreen area will hear them as well.

If you have any questions regarding the test, please contact Chief Curtis Sheets at csheets@@wtgfireresq.org .
