Warner & Kaine announce federal funding to support addiction treatment at various Virginia health clinics

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WFXR) – U.S. Senators Mark R. Warner and Tim Kaine announced $3,426,635 in federal funding through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for nearly two dozen health clinics around the Commonwealth.

These grants will expand access to integrated mental health and substance use disorder services as part of an ongoing effort to combat addition.

The following clinics will receive funding:

  • Rockbridge Area Free Clinic in Lexington will receive $167,000
  • Vernon J. Harris East End Community Health Center in Richmond will receive $167,000
  • Tri-Area Community Health in Laurel Fork will receive $167,000
  • Blue Ridge Medical Center, Inc. in Arrington will receive $167,000
  • Central Virginia Health Services in New Canton will receive $167,000
  • Portsmouth Community Health Center, Inc. in Portsmouth will receive $167,000
  • Peninsula Institute for Community Health in Newport News will receive $167,000
  • Neighborhood Health in Alexandria will receive $167,000
  • Clinch River Health Services, Inc. in Dungannon will receive $167,000
  • Kuumba Community Health & Wellness Center in Roanoke will receive $167,000
  • St. Charles Health Council, Inc. in Jonesville will receive $167,000
  • Eastern Shore Rural Health Systems, Inc. in Onancock will receive $167,000
  • Daily Planet Health Services in Richmond will receive $167,000
  • Johnson Health Center in Madison Heights will receive $167,000
  • Highland Medical Center, Inc. in Monterey will receive $88,657
  • Piedmont Access to Health Services in Danville will receive $167,000
  • Southwest Virginia Community Health Systems, Inc. in Saltville will receive $167,000
  • Martinsville Henry County Coalition of Health and Wellness in Martinsville will receive $166,978
  • Harrisonburg Community Health Center, Inc. in Harrisonburg will receive $167,000
  • Free Clinic of the New River Valley, Inc. in Christiansburg will receive $167,000
  • Greater Prince William Community Health Center in Woodbridge will receive $167,000
