VINTON, Va. (WFXR) — The 2019 Fall Festival in Vinton will not be like the town’s previous fall festivals after combining with a local Oktoberfest celebration.
The Vinton Area Chamber of Commerce and Big Lick Entertainment announced Monday the combination of the fall festival and German-themed beer festival. The combined event, still dubbed the Vinton Fall Festival, will get underway on October 5 at 10 a.m. at the Vinton Farmers’ Market Stage. German food, beverages, and entertainment along with craft and other food vendors will take over Lee Avenue and South Pollard Street until 4 p.m.
From 4-10 p.m., the party will move to Twin Creeks Brewing Company, the site of the Rocktoberfest after-party. The site will be full of music, food trucks, and a garden featuring craft brews, including many new flavors.
“The Town is extremely fortunate to work with great partners such as Big Lick Entertainment, The Vinton Chamber and Twin Creeks Brewing, who consistently provide our citizens and visitors with a great experience”, said Chasity Barbour, community programs director for the Chamber. “Their combined efforts to pull this event together will result in an opportunity for the entire Roanoke Valley to share in one of the world’s most recognizable celebrations known as Oktoberfest, with our own local touches to make this event a truly memorable experience for all ages.”
