Vehicle crash in Roanoke last month leads to one fatality



ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – On Saturday, August 31, a vehicle crash occurred in the 2000 block of Tenth Street NW. Officers responded and found a single vehicle and three individuals at the scene.

Two adult males were outside of the vehicle with no apparent injuries.

An adult female was lying on the ground a short distance from the vehicle and was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

On Monday, September 10, Michelle Dimassimo, 47, the adult female victim in the crash, passed away from injuries related to this incident.

Roanoke Police are now investigating this crash as a fatality.

A preliminary investigation showed the vehicle was travelling south on Tenth Street NW when the crash occurred. Dimassimo was not driving the vehicle.

Thus far, no arrests have been made. The investigation into this incident continues.
