UPDATE: Lynchburg police arrest four for armed robbery, say kidnapping did not occur

Lynchburg police have arrested four people in connection to an armed robbery Saturday night at the Five Star Mart. The department now says no kidnapping took place; the woman thought to have been abducted at knife point was actively involved in the crime.

The department says around 5 a.m. Sunday, the Lynchburg Police Department Tactical Unit and detectives executed a search warrant in the 800-block of Greenfield Drive.

The following individuals were charged and are all being held in the Lynchburg Detention Center without bond:

  • Christopher Doss, 23, of Lynchburg, is charged with Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Grand Larceny, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Abduction, and Carjacking.
  • Dakota Finchum, 21, homeless, is charged with Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Grand Larceny, and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.
  • Marqutez Fisher, 27, homeless, is charged with Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Grand Larceny, and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.
  • Makayla Dodson, 20, of Lynchburg, is charged with Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Grand Larceny, and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony.

The Lynchburg Police Department expressed thanks to all citizens who came forward with tips to assist in the investigation.  They say the investigation remains ongoing.
