ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The City of Roanoke has come to an agreement to settle claims brought forth by several current and former police officers.

343 officers filed a lawsuit seeking relief for alleged unpaid wages.

Roanoke City agrees to pay $800,000 for the claim, plus $400,000 in attorney’s fees and costs. Attorneys will then decide how the settlement is split between all participating parties.

Approval of the settlement has been filed with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia. The settlement must be approved before it becomes final.
