LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The University of Lynchburg’s class of 2023 move into freshman housing beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, the university says.
Bryan Gentry, director of communications at the University of Lynchburg, said 400 students are expected to move in Saturday. They join fall athletes and honors students who moved in earlier.
Gentry said members of the University of Lynchburg community would be on hand to assist incoming freshman as they unload and carry belongings to their new housing.
Move-in is expected to end at 4 p.m., he added.
Earlier this month, the University of Lynchburg said a new residence hall under construction would not open until early September. Due to the construction delay, the University of Lynchburg had to partner with Liberty University to house students in a former hotel owned by LU which is now called “The Annex.” At the time, University of Lynchburg officials said about 240 students would be housed there until the new hall opened. Genry said Saturday the new residence hall will open September 14.
