HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Deputies responded to a Walmart on Commonwealth Boulevard, just outside of Martinsville, on Monday morning after a 911 call came in regarding an infant left in a parked car.

When deputies arrived, they had found a citizen had already broken a window to remove the infant from the vehicle.

The National Weather Service reported the temperature in Martinsville during this time was in the mid 80s.

The infant was taken inside of the store where the child was checked out by emergency officials where it was deemed the child had no injuries.

Deputies verified through surveillance video that the child was in the vehicle with the engine off for less than ten minutes.

The incident remains under investigation.
